Can I say this ONE MORE TIME…..
Just because you have personally found the greatest opportunity FOR YOU, does not mean that the people you present it too will have the same enthusiasm as you about the opportunity. You better learn how to “shake the dust off and keep it moving”. One of the biggest problems many marketers keep facing is the unwillingness to move beyond the borders of their influences. I don’t know how many times I’ve been offered to do XYZ by at least 13 people in my circle who are all trying to recruit the same people in our circles. Targeted opportunists are out here waiting for the right opportunity to come along and yours or mine for that matter just may not be it, and IT’S COOL!!!
With the clients that I do have and work with, I remind them quite often to seek people who are looking for the opportunity in your niche. That may mean becoming creative in your own process of finding potential members to join your team. I do understand the numbers game and your need to “build your downline”, however, keep in mind that it is better to have quality team members who have the same focus and goal and most importantly INTEREST in the business opportunity you have. We have made the terrible mistake at times of just recruiting any and everyone that we see. We don’t care about their interests, their motivations and passions, we just want the “number”. When that is our focus, nine times out of ten, we are going to be challenged with doing the same thing within a matter of days because those people that we have recruited have now awaken to the fact that this is actually something that I don’t want to do. Most people that are signing up under you are oftentimes doing it simply to help you out and have no intentions of working the business like you. Therefore, you must change your mentality from a “recruiter” to a “developer”. Don’t stop recruiting, but make sure those you are adding, are bringing the same level of interest and passion to the business as you do. I have seen far too many of us recruiting “plumbers” for beauty products and fashion! I hope you get the picture of what I’m saying.
Yes, recruit, yes push your business, yes talk to as many people as you can about your opportunity, but make sure you are screening those same people as well to make sure they are in it for the long haul. Have systems of vetting in place so you can weed out those who are just in it emotionally vs those that are ready to change their lives. Most importantly, remember there will be some that are genuinely looking for a great opportunity, and its just ours isn’t the one for them.
